Jacques Kallis (born 16 October 1975 in Pinelands, Cape Town) is a South African cricketer. He is a talented right-handed batsman and effective fast-medium bowler who can swing the ball both ways off a good line and length. He is the only cricketer in the history of the game to hold more than 8,000 runs, 200 wickets and 100 catches in both Test and One Day International cricket. Sanath Jayasuriya has achieved that feat in ODIs but not Tests, and Garfield Sobers achieved it in Tests. Often criticised for his apparent unwillingness to dominate the opposition and score runs quickly, Kallis has demonstrated increasing willingness to attack with the bat in hand in recent years, and from October-December of 2007 produced a remarkable streak of 5 centuries in 4 Test Matches. With 29 Test centuries, equal to the legendary Sir Donald Bradman, Kallis has definitely established himself as one of the modern greats of the game.
